Parc Boutique, a new clothing shop, has opened at 328 E. Hennepin Ave. in the East Bank neighborhood (Old St. Anthony). Specialties include jeans and an assortment of dresses, knits and tops. Some popular brands include James Jeans, Genetic Denim, Yumi Kim and LinQ. There’s also a small selection of men’s clothing.

The boutique’s owner Thao Bui, graduated from the University of Minnesota with a major in Retail Merchandising. After practicing her trade at Gap headquarters in San Francisco for a couple of years, she returned home to open her own place.

As for naming the business, Ms. Bui said she drew inspiration from a trip to the famous PARCO store in Tokyo. A Vespa motor scooter, (not for sale) serves as a centerpiece for the room, and two chandeliers hang from the ceiling.
