Mixed Blood will kick off the 2008–2009 season with Distracted, directed by Mixed Blood Artistic Director Jack Reuler and written by Lisa Loomer, who also wrote Girl, Interrupted. The play is told from the perspective of a mother with a 9-year-old son diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Malia Cole, communications director at Mixed Blood, said the show offers an “interesting look at a modern dilemma with an honesty that makes for a very funny show.” The show simulates the effects of ADHD and engrosses the audience with sound and video and leads to controversial questions about the cause and treatment for ADHD in our society.
